The Result!

Hey there, lovely readers! I hope you have had a great week. Today I have the results of a newsletter subscriber poll on what my next-but-one book should be and answers to some frequently asked questions relating to my future plans.

But first…

? My next release will be an Inspector Graham.?

It has a working title of The Case of the Something Something (IG #9) and I start writing it on May 1st. It will be published later this year.

And what's after that?

The resounding winner of the vote for the book newsletter subscribers would prefer me to write after the above Graham was . . . ?    Roxy!   ?    So that's what I'll be writing after The Case of the Something Something.

Please read on to learn about my plans for books in the other series and even new series.

But, But, But . . .

Will you be writing more Inspector Graham after this next book (#9?)

✅  Yes. In between the books I publish, I constantly draft new stories. Beyond IG#9, I have complete drafts for three more Inspector Graham books and a partial. I expect by the time these drafts are published, I will have written another three or four. I have no plans to end this series, but one day it will finish because I will get old. ?

Will there be more Diana?

✅  Yes. I have two complete drafts for new books in this series. I am undecided as to when these will be published but they definitely will be. Diana's story will be finished. I will not leave her or her fans hanging. I know it has been a long time and you're being very patient. I hope that by publishing books in my different series, there is something for you while you wait.

Will you publish a new series?

❌  Not in the short term. I have learned over the past couple of years that writing in three series is preferable (two is probably optimal.) More than that and the time between books in any one series is too long. To speed things up I have to compromise on quality and I don't want that. My priority is to finish my other series (Roxy and Diana, not Graham!) before I introduce anything new into my stable.

Will you be writing more Annabelle?

❌  As I wrote a few weeks ago, Witches at the Wedding is the final book in the series. I wanted her to leave on a high, beloved, and happy. That's not to say you'll never hear of Annabelle again or that I won't write a one-off or even a spin-off, but the series as it is is done.  Also see answer re. new series above.

I hope that lets you know my thinking. I am driven by reader feedback (mostly ?.) You can let me know what you think about my future direction by becoming a newsletter subscriber, writing to me, or by buying the books (sales are the strongest indicator of reader preference.)

Next week, I've got something intimate and personal for you so keep an eye out for my email on Thursday. ❤️  See you then!

Happy reading!
