Hey there, something big happened this past week. No, not that thing. Another thing. I celebrated 24 years living in the US.
I still remember the journey clearly – collapsing into seat 34C on the Virgin Atlantic flight on October 30, 1996, the grilling I got when I arrived in the country and trying to stay up past 9 p.m. on my first night.
I was terrified of driving on the right and took tentative journeys every day until I suddenly had to drive 20 minutes on the freeway to meet someone. After that, everything was simples.
Obviously, lots of things have happened since then and I no longer get interrogated by immigration but 24 years have gone by in a flash. I hope the next 24 go a bit slower.
By the way, Green Card is a fun, sweet movie. The interview scene is quite accurate in my experience.
Today I have cover treats for you.
The new Inspector Graham cover
The Case of the Forsaken Child will be out later this month. Richard, my illustrator, and I have been working since August on the cover and finally, I can reveal it to you. Ta-da!
Awesome, don't you think? I am so lucky to have Richard and I trust we will be working together on Graham covers for a long time yet. I'm even thinking of having some custom jigsaws made from his work.
Have a lovely week and I'll be back soon with more news.
Happy reading!
