Hey there, a few months ago, I asked my readers which book I should write after finishing Fireworks in France. The resounding feedback was that it should be an Inspector Graham.
And so it was that on Monday, I got back in the saddle and kicked off the next story for Graham and his gang. I will be working on it part-time for the next few months.
There is much happening in my home and travel to see family and friends is in my future so it will be a while before it is finished, but it is exciting to be back on Jersey. I look forward to seeing what Graham and his team get up to.
Life imitating art
Readers regularly ask me where I get my ideas from. The answer is often “real life.” I keep abreast of world news and keep a file of stories I find interesting as I go about my days. I'll often weave fact and fiction together to spin an interesting tale.
Yesterday, fact and fiction collided. Gorey Harbour was in the news as the Royal Navy was dispatched to protect Jersey from threats to blockade ports in a fight over fishing rights. The likelihood of this scenario happening is what formed the background for The Case of the Pretty Lady published two years ago.
Like this video, it was curious (and a little satisfying, I admit,) to see my fictional situation played out in real time.
Missed, but not forgotten…
I've been doing a lot of work on Graham and Annabelle recently, but I have a message for Roxy fans.
I hear you!
I haven't forgotten her, she will be back. I have adventures galore planned.
