Background

Sister Mary was brought up in a strict Catholic family. She studied nursing at university and when she attended a lecture given by an order of nuns who had been working in West Africa, she immediately decided to join the sisterhood. She became a novice as soon as she graduated. Her religious order is based in France. After a few years, she moved to work in Africa and worked in village hospitals there for a while – until the Ebola epidemic broke out. Knowing the newly developed vaccines would be not only in high demand but extremely expensive to purchase, she set out on a mission to find the money necessary for their purchase.
