πŸ“š A birthday, an interview, and audiobooks πŸ“š

Hey there, lovely reader,

I enjoyed one of my twice a year visits to the movies last weekend. I forgot my earbuds which was troubling for the previews, but the film I went to see was gentle and quiet for which I was grateful.

The film was One Life about the story of Nicholas Winton who, against all the odds, organized the rescue of 669 Jewish children in Czechoslovakia, bringing them to England, settling them with foster parents, and almost certainly saving their lives.

I was struck by how unassuming Winton was and also, as I always am, by how brave all the people involved in the resistance were. Also the parts of the film set in the 1980s was extremely nostalgic for me.

Ultimately it was a moving, uplifting film and I enjoyed it very much. I also enjoyed going to a Irish bar afterward – naively on St. Patrick's Day, no less – for a gin and tonic. The noise in the bar made up for the tranquility of the film!

Today, I have news on Inspector Graham audiobooks, on a radio interview I did recently, and my milestone birthday . . .

The Case of Sampson's Leap audiobook

Sampson's Leap is now available in audio bringing us nearly up to date with the whole series. It is available from Audible/Amazon. You can also get earlier books in the series as box sets or individually.

If you have an Audible subscription, each book or set is available for one credit each – a bargain for hours and hours of listening.

You'll find samples on each product page (underneath the cover) if you would like to listen to the narration before buying.

Read On The Radio interview

Recently I did an interview for a UK radio show, Read On The Radio with Andrew Read. It was a lot of fun – I love talking about my books! The interview is about fifteen minutes long. You can listen to it here. You can also listen to other interviews from the show here.

Birthday girl

It was my birthday recently, a (gulp) milestone birthday. I asked my son to bake me a very special cake and I think we can agree he outdid himself. It was absolutely delicious, a real decadent, spoil-me treat. I didn't hold back. Thank you, Oliver!

Off for a walk with a friend and her two rescue dogs now, then back to my desk for some more writing. I'll be back next week with more news.

Happy reading!
